Seattle Raga Institute or SRI was formed by Seattle-based musicians Brandon McIntosh, Satyajit Limaye, and Chaz Hastings, each a professional concertizing musician with years of onstage experience. The purpose of SRI is to provide its students with the opportunity to experience all aspects of North Indian Classical music by interacting with SRI’s different teachers as well as each other. By working together and utilizing modern instruction tools and methods, students can acquire more musical knowledge and experience at a faster rate than they could before.SRI provides its students with online materials such as worksheets, recordings, and other materials that facilitate the education process. SRI’s instructors also emphasize the importance of individual and group practice as the primary means for student growth. Classes are open to all ages of students from 5 years old to adults, and from rank beginner to advanced.
